I realized that I should probably give a little more background on myself other than telling you that I've always wanted to teach. So here goes...
I grew up in wonderful, central Florida where I met my husband at the age of 7 or 8. We went to the same church from the time that we were kids and grew up living one street from each other. We didn't start dating until I was a senior in high school and he was actually my first boyfriend. Yes, I married the only boy I've ever dated! We have been married for 8 years and we are more in love than ever. We have a beautiful (can I say that about a boy?) 5 year old son and another baby boy on the way (due in October).
We moved our family to Point University (formerly Atlanta Christian College) in 2009 and God has blessed us tremendously since our journey north (yes, Georgia is the north to us Floridians). My husband, Bryan, has been able to pursue his calling into ministry and I have been able to continue my education to be a teacher... my life-long dream.
I really have always known that I wanted to teach. From my earliest years of making my little brother play school to later in life when I would visit my aunt in Alabama for a week each summer just so I could help her set up her kindergarten classroom, I just knew that I wanted to make this my career. I must admit that there have been some moments when the road has gotten tough and I question my resolve, but every time I find myself back in a classroom I'm reminded of my love for children and of the joy I find in helping them learn!
Teaching is so rewarding and I am looking forward to the day when I have my own classroom and am finally able to make my dreams a reality!
Your writing ability is truly inspiring and helps to convey your enthusiasm. I am so glad you have shared your story! I know you have many many qualities that will help you achieve your dreams and be an incredible teacher.
